Electric Ocean at SeaWorld offers different shows at night, which are themed to resemble a summer party. The park normally closes at 6 p.m., but it stays open later until 9:30 p.m. for this event. This extra time allows more access to the attractions that were pretty empty (especially Sesame Street land). This party started on June 1, and it will end Sept. 1 (check the calendar before visiting to ensure the party is scheduled). It is worth a trip out to the park at night if your kids can sleep in the next day. There is special glow-in-the-dark merchandise and food themed for the event. Our favorite offerings were the Sea Lions Tonite and Ignite fireworks shows.
Sea Lions Tonite
This 6:30 p.m. show has a hilarious mime that entertains the crowd until the show starts. This show makes fun of the attractions and the theme park experience. They have jokes about most of the big rides and the shows, which really entertained the adults. The Sea Lions were so cute, and the walrus was even in on the jokes. See if you can make it until the Ignite fireworks show.
Ignite
The kids were tired and didn’t want to stay until 9:30 p.m. to see this fireworks and fountain show, but they agreed it was their favorite show. There is music set to colored water fountains interspersed with fireworks. We were seated on the grass toward the front of the area and got sprayed several times during the show. Just get a good seat away from the fountains so you don’t get splashed.
Touch the Sky
I have seen this show during the day and didn’t see any changes with this nighttime show at 5:30 p.m. They still had the birds flying over the audience and then jumps/tricks from the trainers and dolphins. This show used to be amazing with acrobats performing above the water, but they have removed them for some reason. This was not their favorite show, but we still enjoyed it.
Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up The Night
This 8:30 p.m. show was a hyped version of the day show with music and dancing while you wait for the show to start. The whales do the same basic moves splashing the audience and various other tricks. It’s unfortunate that rules do not allow trainers to enter the water because the shows seems repetitive. The kids enjoyed the music portions and danced with their light sticks.
