Theaters are offering deals throughout the summer to give parents a break from the sun and fighting siblings, but these deals are primarily at the beginning of the week.
Premiere Cinemas
Premiere Cinemas in the Fashion Square Mall have deals for early showings. The early bird pricing for the first show of the day before 2 p.m. during the school year or before 12 p.m. during summer/holidays is only $5.86. All showings before 6 p.m. are only $7.46.
AMC Theatres
AMC Theatres offers deals on Tuesday showings and movies before noon every day of the week. AMC movies cost $5 at these times, but you have to register on the AMC app to get this deal. The AMC Stubs A* List lets you watch up to three movies in any format per week, which resets every Friday. The price varies based on where you live, but this could be great for movie lovers. There are AMC theatres on West Colonial Drive, near Altamonte Mall, and at Disney Springs. This chain lets you refill your drinks at drink stations.
Regal Theatres
Regal Summer Movie Express has $1 movies on Tuesday and Wednesdayt mornings at 10 a.m. until Sept. 4, which will cover the summer until they go back to school in August. You also get points toward the app, but you cannot bring snacks inside the theater (they search your bag in case you try to sneak something inside). The movies are primarily older, so most kids have already seen them. We try to go at least every other week to watch some of our favorites.
Aloma Cinema Grill
Aloma Cinema Grill is a small theatre in Winter Park that has sells food and has tables with comfortable chairs. The real lure of this theatre is they offer new movies for just $6 per person, so they clearly make their money on food. It is best to arrive early for popular movies because they get full fast. The food tends to be expensive, so eat before you get there or just buy popcorn. They only have a few movies playing there, so be sure to catch it when they are offering the movies because they change them often.
EPIC Theatres
EPIC Theatres have a deluxe experience called EPIC XL for about $16 a ticket. We splurged and watched Toy Story 4 on the 65′ wide screen, which is about 1.5 times larger than the average screen with 4K projection. This is a major luxury because the rows are spaced farther apart, so you don’t hear anything from neighbors. There are physical barriers between each row so it feels like you are alone in the theatre.
This theatre also offers red leather, reclining seats. You can set them to your preferences, which really made the experience so much more comfortable. This theatre that allows you to refill your drink at fountain stations. The popcorn was excellent because it wasn’t loaded with butter. I highly recommend this theatre experience for blockbuster action movies, but don’t bother for normal movies.
