New Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld easier for parents

TJ’s review: 0 out of 5 for Infinity Falls and 5 out of 5 for Sesame Street land

My review: 4 out of 5 for Infinity Falls and 5 out of 5 for Sesame Street land

The new Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld has many elements that make SeaWorld even more kid-friendly. The old kids area had a huge climbing area with slides where you would lose your kids easily. I used to sit in the same place and wait until my kids returned. The new kids area is only one level with an interactive area of computer games near Hooper’s store. The store has an inside picture taking opportunity with the characters.

The central area has a splash pad called Rubber Duckie Water Works, two food trucks and drink station. The best deal is to buy a popcorn tub and drink cup because they can be refilled throughout the park at a 10% discount with an annual pass. There used to be a playground in the middle, but it has been removed indefinitely. I asked an employee who said it should be returning as soon as they can replace the metal tubes that got too hot, but there is no indication when or if this will happen.

They have the same rides as the old kids area, but they have been themed with characters. There is still a separate changing area for children wearing diapers in a small house. The great part about SeaWorld is the wait times are limited for the kids rides because the lines are shorter than other theme parks. It normally takes about 5-10 minutes to get on a ride.

Other attractions

SeaWorld’s other attractions, except for roller coasters, normally are accessible to small children, which makes this park worthwhile for families. Kids really enjoy the animal exhibits and shows. My 5-year-old was tall enough to ride the new water ride called Infinity Falls, which he loved because it lifts you up to reach the steep drop. I suggest bringing either a poncho or extra outfit because you will get soaked on this attraction.

Special Events

They have events throughout the year, which are included with admission. There is a Seven Seas food festival in the Spring with free concerts. The summer has Electric Ocean with a fireworks display and other special offerings. Halloween has free trick-or-treating stations throughout the park. The Christmas Celebration offers holiday shows and attractions.

They even offer special weekends where you can go behind-the-scenes at different attractions for free, which is called SeaWorld Inside Look. We did the whale attraction and got to see the feeding station and other employees-only areas.

Admission price

SeaWorld normally has deals for Florida residents, which sometimes includes extra months on the ticket or an additional park for free (which is what I got with my annual pass). I have the annual pass that provides admission to Aquatica and SeaWorld with no blackout dates, free preferred parking and two free tickets per year. If you are not a Florida resident, then I would check Groupon and LivingSocial for admission deals.

TJ and Jake play in the interactive play area of Sesame Street land.
