EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Fest nothing special for kids

TJ’s review: 5 out of 5 stars (I think he was reviewing EPCOT) My review: 2 out of 5 stars

This festival that ends June 3 is geared for adults, so don’t expect anything exciting for the kids other than the normal offerings at EPCOT. We have year passes with no blackout dates, so we try to make it to every event to get our $180 worth per month. They have a butterfly tent that is cute with many types of plants and butterflies, but this is the only special attraction for the kids. They have the playground in front of Test Track that is currently themed for Toy Story 4, but this is a normal offering.

The character-themed topiaries are cute with movie characters, but the kids didn’t care much about them and passed most of them. The splash area near Test Track was closed, so this kid area was unavailable. We enjoyed the color-themed area in the building behind the Electric Umbrella, but this seems to be a permanent attraction. The boys enjoyed coloring with electric brushes at this color area, which was the highlight of our hot day in the air-conditioned building.

We suggest drinking something at the Electric Umbrella because it is the only place in the park with soft drink fountains (other than the area with international Coke flavors). I often refill my water jug with fresh ice and water on the way in and way out of the park at the Electric Umbrella. There’s no need to make a special trip for this event because we enjoyed the rides and attractions that are available year-round.
